Location: Birmingham

Age Group: Young people aged 11-17 and their families

Pay: £23 - £35.36 PAYE per hour (dependent on experience)

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and motivated Psychologist to join our client's NHS team. The ideal candidate will promote a recovery service and provide excellent evidence-based psychological input to multidisciplinary mental health services for young people aged 11-17 and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialist psychological assessment and intervention for young people and their families/carers.
  • Contribute to ward rounds, formulation, care planning, CPAs, and MDT assessments.
  • Offer supervision, consultation, training, psychological debriefs, and staff support to colleagues within an inpatient setting.
  • Provide services to our General Adolescent Unit and Specialist Eating Disorders Units.
  • Work collaboratively with a full team including psychologists, family therapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, nurses, and medics.
  • Operate in a clinically demanding and fascinating environment.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Experience working clinically in CAMHS.
  • Skills and interest in working with complexity and co-morbidity including neurodiversity, suicidality, trauma, psychosis, and eating disorders.
  • Work autonomously and as an integral part of integrated biopsychosocial multidisciplinary teams within professional guidelines and the overall framework of policies and procedures.
  • Creative, innovative, high-performing individual able to make safe and confident decisions around patient care.
  • Strong partnership skills with patients, their families, colleagues in the multidisciplinary team, and community agencies.
