Job description

This position within the Brighton and Hove Wellbeing Service offers career progression opportunities for Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (PWPs).

The role is based in our Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (NHS TT) stepped care service, delivering Step 2 interventions aligned with NICE Guidance. The post involves providing evidence-based Guided Self-help, computerised CBT, and psychoeducational groups.

Key responsibilities include supporting the PWP Team Leads with service development, performance monitoring, and potentially line management. The post holder will also oversee clinical supervision and case management for both trainee and qualified PWPs.

The role is situated within the Brighton and Hove Wellbeing Talking Therapy Service, part of the Primary Care and Wellbeing CDS / Brighton Division at Sussex Partnership Foundation Trust.

Core duties:
  1. Provide case management and clinical supervision to PWPs and Trainee PWPs.
  2. Maintain high professional standards through regular clinical and managerial supervision.
  3. Assist in managing waiting lists and systems for Step 2 assessments and interventions.
  4. Ensure accurate clinical record-keeping and outcome measurement on the data system, supporting staff as needed.
  5. Coordinate patient satisfaction questionnaires and service reviews.
  6. Implement and support the step care model for psychological interventions in primary care, in line with NICE guidelines.
  7. Contribute to the development and innovation within the Step 2 Team.
  8. Deliver high-volume, low-intensity short-term treatments following the NHS TT model.
  9. Conduct initial assessments, including risk and complexity evaluations, and facilitate onward referrals.
  10. Ensure best clinical practice for self and others.
