Job summary

SubSea Craft in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior Prototyping Engineer to drive rapid prototyping across multiple engineering domains, from concept to functioning prototypes. The role combines design work with hands-on workshop tasks and occasional travel to external test locations.

You’ll work on embedded electronics, PCB development, RF systems, and unmanned platforms, supporting Diver Delivery, USV and UAV projects with a pragmatic, iterative approach.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronic, Aerospace or Systems Engineering; Electronics, Robotics or other relevant STEM.
• Significant applicable experience; hobbyist experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Lead rapid prototyping of systems from concept to working prototypes.
• Assist in transitioning prototypes to engineering teams.
• Perform office design work and hands‑on workshop tasks to support builds.
• Mentor others in a collaborative environment to reach goals.
• Support test and validation activities on‑site and off‑site during system tests.
• Coordinate with trials, procurement, and manufacturing teams; occasional travel.
