Job summary

Siemens Smart Infrastructure is seeking a Senior Service Engineer for the Protection & Control team in Hebburn. You will support maintenance, troubleshooting and enhancements of critical Protection & Control systems across the UK grid.

You will diagnose faults, perform testing and commissioning, provide on-site and remote support, and develop engineering documentation while adhering to SLAs and safety standards.

Qualifications

• BEng in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
• Experience in the Electricity Transmission & Distribution industry.
• Protection & Control experience, ideally in Transmission projects.
• Strong fault-finding, testing and commissioning skills.
• Knowledge of Protection & Control systems, comms protocols and engineering docs.
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rota.
• Experience with SIPROTEC 5 and SICAM.
• Knowledge of transmission projects, processes or specs.
• Good IT skills and cyber security awareness.

Responsibilities

• Participate in an on-call support rota and respond to customer issues.
• Provide remote technical support under SLAs.
• Diagnose and resolve faults across Protection & Control systems.
• Log incidents and produce service reports.
• Attend customer sites to investigate faults and implement solutions.
• Develop and configure Protection & Control solutions.
• Produce and review engineering docs (FDS, I/O Schedules).
• Create test schedules and support FAT/SAT testing.
• Ensure compliance with customer specs and industry standards.
