Job Description:

Rooted in 165 years of partnership, Daniel Watney offer a personal, relationship-led service; bringing together heritage and forward-thinking collaboration to unlock long-term value. As a trusted, independent property advisory firm we aim to empower our clients to make confident, informed decisions across the whole real estate landscape. From residential to commercial or public to private sector, we ensure the right people, with the right skills, are carefully matched to each project. Ensuring quality is maintained at all times.

Join a dynamic residential team managing high-quality rental properties across London.

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Property Manager to oversee a portfolio of privately rented residential properties, primarily under Assured Shorthold Tenancies (ASTs). This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident property professional with strong tenancy management skills, a solid grasp of current lettings legislation, and a passion for delivering exceptional service to landlords and tenants alike.

You’ll play a key role in day-to-day portfolio operations, instructing works, managing tenancy processes, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure seamless financial, compliance, and maintenance support.

About You

You are highly organised, service-driven, and confident in managing your own portfolio with minimal supervision. You’ll have a strong understanding of landlord and tenant responsibilities, a good eye for detail, and the ability to stay calm and responsive in a fast-paced environment. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build their professional profile within a well-regarded and growing firm of chartered surveyors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full tenancy lifecycle, including move-ins, renewals, rent reviews, and legal notices.
  • Oversee maintenance and repairs, liaising with contractors and ensuring works meet quality standards.
  • Conduct regular property inspections and follow up on actions required.
  • Monitor rent collection and address arrears in line with company procedures.
  • Maintain landlord and tenant communication, ensuring prompt and professional responses.
  • Ensure compliance with lettings legislation (e.g. gas safety, EPCs, licensing).
  • Keep accurate records using property management systems and prepare portfolio reports.

Key Skills & Characteristics

  • Strong understanding of AST property management and landlord-tenant law
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage a changing workload with professionalism and efficiency
  • Strong problem-solving, judgement, and decision-making skills
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Confident using Microsoft Office and property management software
  • Collaborative, reliable, and committed to high service standards

Qualifications & Experience

  • ARLA Propertymark Level 3 (or working towards)
  • Sound knowledge of lettings legislation and compliance
  • Experience with property management software (e.g. Qube, Propman) preferred

What We Offer

  • Competitive Pay – Reflective of your skills and experience
  • Professional Development – Support for ARLA, IRPM, RICS, H&S training
  • Hybrid Working – A flexible blend of office, site, and remote working
  • Employee Benefits – 25 days’ annual leave (plus bank holidays), pension scheme, retail discounts, cycle-to-work
  • Inclusive Culture – Be part of a collaborative, supportive, and inclusive team
