THE ROLE
In the firm's specialist team which provides a comprehensive range of construction law solutions across the wide spectrum of projects undertaken in the construction industry.
Clients include private and public institutions, property owners and investors, developers, funders, contractors, specialist sub-contractors, suppliers, and construction/design consultants.
The team is involved with projects from the outset and works with clients to shape their procurement and contracting strategies.
Agreements they help to prepare can be based upon standard form contracts or on bespoke agreements, tailored to meet any project's requirements.
They vary from project-specific EPC and EPCM contracts to multi-party and partnering working arrangements, and encompass NEC and traditional JCT contracts.
The team also has extensive experience advising on risks in live schemes, including preventing the failure of construction projects.
Much of the focus is in the UK, but they also advise on a range of international projects across many jurisdictions and work with their network of trusted international law firms and consultants where appropriate.
THE CANDIDATE
The construction team seeks a lawyer with 5+ years PQE with previous experience working within a construction team or housing practice.
A good working knowledge of various standard form contracts and appointments, including JCT, NEC, and EPC forms, their standard amendments, and market norms is ideal, as is a willingness to handle more bespoke, complex agreements, large-scale due diligence exercises, and typical development arrangements with appropriate supervision.
Experience in investor and/or housing and accommodation sectors would be particularly welcome.
Opportunities to develop knowledge and to become involved in business development (BD) are available.
Experience in managing matters, organizing files, and handling a varied workload is required, along with the ability to work well with and supervise junior team members.
