Senior Project Quantity Surveyor – Clean Energy Generation

Senior Project Quantity Surveyor sought by leading project developer pioneering the delivery of Renewable Energy assets throughout the UK. The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will support project delivery, taking responsibility from the project development team, supporting the closure of contracts and managing them through construction and handover to operations.

Projects you will support include the UK’s largest Energy Storage Assets (+100MW), H2 Ready Thermal Power Plants, and Green Hydrogen Electrolysis Assets. These projects will involve high-value equipment installation, M&E, and civils activity.

The ideal Senior Quantity Surveyor will be comfortable overseeing risk and value management, driving the performance of sub-contractors, and managing quality. A background in M&E, Renewables, O&G, Thermal power generation, or other large-scale Infrastructure (Data Centres, Civil Infra, etc.) would be suitable.

Key requirements for Senior Project Quantity Surveyor

  • Experience with various contract forms, especially NEC suite (ECC Accredited Project Manager qualification preferred but not essential);
  • Experience in heavy Civils/M&E/Energy works in a main/principal contractor setting (not essential);
  • Experience on contracts £10m+ for principal contractors (desirable).

Key responsibilities for Senior Project Quantity Surveyor

  • Management of change: lead and own the change process, maintain effective change control procedures, manage risk/early warning registers, proactively manage works variations to reduce project risk and costs;
  • Procurement: prepare enquiry documents, review work scopes, focus on design and time-criticality, contract negotiations, select contractors, draft final order documentation;
  • Manage contractor accounts: assess and process payments timely, formulate payment notices, and manage cost adjustments;
  • Challenge disallowed costs;
  • Reporting: maintain cost plans, earned value, and report to directors;
  • Provide commercial support and advice on-site;
  • Maintain professional relationships.

Location: Projects are throughout England, with offices in London.
