Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Project Principal to lead complex, multidisciplinary buildings projects. The role requires operating within design & build and contractor-led environments with strong governance and commercial acumen.

You will oversee bids, mobilisation, delivery and close-out, managing senior stakeholders including Defence Infrastructure Organisation and MOD partners where relevant. This is a senior, high-autonomy leadership position within our Buildings Unit.

Qualifications

• Significant experience delivering complex, multidisciplinary buildings projects in consultancy or professional services.
• Senior leadership role with accountability for delivery outcomes.
• Experience in Design & Build and/or contractor-led delivery models with design risk management.

Responsibilities

• Provide end-to-end leadership for complex buildings projects from bid through mobilisation, delivery and close-out.
• Set and approve project delivery strategy including scope, programme, resources, budget, risk and governance.
• Lead Design & Build, framework and contractor-led projects with oversight of design development and interfaces.
• Act as senior escalation point for delivery, safety, quality, and commercial issues with decisive intervention.
• Provide senior commercial oversight including fee strategy, forecasting, change management and contract administration.
• Mentor and lead multidisciplinary teams and chair key project reviews at critical stages.
• Ensure resources are appropriately skilled and that assurance arrangements are in place.
• Maintain health, safety and wellbeing risks and ensure compliant and safe working practices.
