Job summary

Laing O'Rourke is seeking a Senior Project Planner for the Stansted Airport Transformation Project. The role focuses on pre-construction and delivery planning across enabling and advanced works, embedded within the project team from PCSA through construction.

You will shape schedules, optimize sequences, monitor progress, and report to stakeholders while mentoring junior planners and contributing to procurement strategies.

Qualifications

• Senior planning experience on infrastructure or major construction projects.
• Ability to develop and maintain complex project programmes.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6.
• Experience with NEC forms of contract.
• Strong project controls, reporting and forecasting capabilities.
• Experience coordinating across multidisciplinary teams and supply chain.
• Commercial awareness of programme implications on cost and risk.
• Excellent communication and ability to present programme information clearly.
• Collaborative mindset to lead, support, and mentor others.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and manage the Contract Programme and Programme to Build.
• Lead planning and coordination across enabling and advanced works packages.
• Establish efficient construction sequences to optimise time, cost and risk.
• Monitor progress and provide reporting with mitigation strategies.
• Produce weekly and monthly programme reports for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with design, commercial, construction and supply chain teams.
• Provide strategic and commercial advice on programme impacts and risks.
• Mentor junior planners and drive team capability.
