We are looking for a Senior Project Planner to join our Expanded team on a prestigious project in West London.
Since 2021, our Expanded team has been working on the construction of the main station box at HS2's Old Oak Common.
Last month, Expanded completed construction of the base slab supporting the new HS2 station in Old Oak Common. This involved 91 concrete pours, each between 600 and 1,100 cubic metres of concrete.
Some fast facts about the new base slab:
- A massive 76,000 cubic metres of concrete and 17,000 tonnes of reinforcement form the structure.
- Surface area of 45,000m2, enough to accommodate more than six football pitches.
- Weight of 190,000 tonnes, heavier than 1,000 blue whales.
- Maximum thickness of 1.95m.

Role overview:
- Ensure all programmes comply with project requirements, develop and agree on logical sequences, and adopt the most economical construction strategies.
- Participate in pre-contract planning and work-winning processes to produce bid programmes and related information for tenders.
- Analyze performance, advise the team on impacts, and recommend improvements.
- Contribute to risk, opportunity, and commercial assessments in tender bids.
- Present time-related data effectively using various techniques and produce high-quality submissions and presentations.
- Manage contracts for complex projects through independent processes and systems.
- Perform forensic analysis of programme data and liaise with client teams to build relationships.
- Apply comprehensive contract knowledge to align control measures with risks and optimize commercial opportunities.
- Develop and implement advanced project management techniques for use on complex projects.
Skills & experience:
- Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- CIOB Membership.
- Proficiency in modelling, 4D planning, Asta, or P6, preferably both at a high standard.
- Experience with major projects.
- Ability to analyze data for reporting and forecasting.
- Prioritize tasks based on urgency and importance, with high accuracy.
- Lateral thinking to identify trends and issues in production data.
Leadership skills:
- Lead planning functions on projects.
- Resource management, recruitment, development, coaching, and mentoring.
- Drive business improvements and development agendas.
- Maintain project programmes and related materials.
- Ensure work quality and accuracy at the highest standards.
