Job summary

Design for Manufacture Resourcing (DFM-R) Limited is recruiting an experienced Project Manager – Long Lead Items (LLI) to support a major UK nuclear programme in Derby. You will manage procurement, manufacture, FAT, transport and final delivery of critical long lead equipment.

The role requires strong project controls, supplier and stakeholder management, and familiarity with NEC3/NEC4 contracts. A relevant engineering or PM degree and certifications such as APM PMQ, PRINCE2 or PMP are

Qualifications

• Proven project management experience in major engineering or infrastructure programmes.
• Experience in nuclear, energy, process, oil & gas or other highly regulated sectors.
• Strong understanding of long lead equipment procurement and manufacturing.
• Experience dealing with large mechanical/electrical plant and major equipment.
• Supplier and stakeholder management experience.
• Knowledge of project controls, risk and schedule management.
• Familiarity with NEC3/NEC4 contracts would be advantageous.
• Nuclear manufacturing or quality experience would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage integrated LLI delivery plans, schedules and milestones.
• Oversee supplier performance across schedule, cost, quality and technical requirements.
• Coordinate complex engineering procurement and manufacturing activities.
• Manage project risks, opportunities, dependencies and critical-path issues.
• Coordinate technical, quality and manufacturing surveillance activities.
• Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), hold points and witness points.
• Support commercial management including change control, milestone payments and contract compliance.
• Provide clear project reporting and updates to senior stakeholders.
• Work closely with engineering, quality, commercial, supply-chain and regulatory teams.

Engineering/PM degree

PM certifications (APM PMQ, PRINCE2 or PMP)
