Job summary

Mace is recruiting a Project Manager to join the MoJ sector, delivering through procurement and construction phases. You will lead a multidisciplinary team, manage stakeholders, and drive strategies to achieve time, cost, quality goals on a major prison project near Norwich.

You will work in a client-facing role with hybrid attendance, develop project programmes, manage risk, and coordinate design and procurement. Mobility within the UK is required.

Qualifications

• Membership of RICS, CIOB, APM, ICE or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.
• Substantial experience in the successful delivery phase of projects and programmes in the public sector.
• Property or infrastructure project management expertise.
• Commercial and financial acumen.
• Experience of leading parts of projects within large, diverse teams.
• Experience of developing and forming relationships with senior stakeholders.
• Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.
• Having experience in contract administration duties and have experience managing projects using various standard forms of contract including NEC4.
• Passionate, client focused individual and can build lasting client relationships.
• Are open to mobility within the UK as required.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring quality systems are suitably managed in line with service excellence.
• Delivering and manage project plans from inception through design development, planning, procurement and construction phase.
• Managing tasks and deliverables with senior project managers and leaders to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
• Bringing the multidisciplinary project team together to manage outputs of feasibility studies and design coordination.
• Developing and managing communication with stakeholders to integrate requirements into the project.
• Working with the client and reporting to the project lead on strategy and delivery.
• Assisting in developing the client’s brief, strategy and leading design management, procurement and execution.
• Understanding of the design process and managing outputs and technical aspects.
• Producing strategic project programmes and integrating programmes from consultants and contractors.
• Understanding of risk management and mitigation for project risks.
• Coordinating, planning and managing internal and external meetings.
• Driving procurement of services and works including site surveys.
• Understanding budgets and reviewing contractor proposals.
• Input into client system safety and project risk assessment.
• Directing management of contract suppliers under NEC4 from design to final account.
• Managing interfaces across multiple projects to optimise programme efficiencies.
• Managing pre-contract design development and post-contract scope changes.
