Job summary

Arcadis is seeking an experienced Project Manager to deliver Higher Education, laboratory, and museum projects across the UK. You will oversee complex building refurbishment works on live occupied sites, coordinating on-site contractors and multidisciplinary teams.

Applicants should have hands-on construction knowledge, familiarity with labs and museum environments, and a proven track record in delivering projects on time and within budgets, while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Proven hands-on experience managing construction or refurbishment projects within Higher Education, laboratories, or museums.
• Strong ability to work with multiple trades on live sites with access constraints.
• Familiarity with labs and museums environments and related safety considerations.

Responsibilities

• Manage construction delivery on Higher Education, laboratory, and museum projects, coordinating multiple trades and subcontractors on live, occupied sites.
• Oversee scopes of work, contractor engagement, site supervision, and quality control to ensure compliance with technical specifications and safety standards.
• Lead site coordination meetings, manage programme schedules, and track budgets to keep projects on time and within financial targets.
• Work with estates teams, academic staff, curators, and stakeholders to address challenges of operating in sensitive environments.
• Identify and mitigate risks early, escalating to senior management as needed to maintain momentum and compliance.
• Monitor site progress and resource allocation to anticipate delays or cost impacts and adjust plans accordingly.
