The Role
As a Senior Project Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. This role will be split and the Senior Project Manager will spend their time managing internal transformation projects and time in a functional role in the Project Manager discipline.
You’ll work on complex internal transformation projects creating and implementing strategies and bringing teams together across multiple functions.

Day-to-day, you’ll be providing day-to-day management of a team of project staff, you’ll be responsible for the timely and cost-effective delivery to our internal stakeholders.


In this role, you will also be a functional focus area manager, successfully managing operations within your area including resource capture and recruitment management, implementation of change / best practice and management of performance and training.

  • Oversee operational and strategic management of business transformation projects, ensuring alignment with cost, time, quality, priorities, and dependencies.
  • Identify, plan, and manage multiple project interdependencies to ensure successful delivery of key activities.
  • Manage stakeholders effectively and build strong relationships across a matrix organisation.
  • Mitigate and manage risks to minimise the business’ exposure throughout the project.
  • Apply effective change management, balancing evolving requirements with budget and timeline constraints.

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides flexible hybrid working arrangements with working days onsite and working days from home. However, you may be required to ravel to other UK sites when the project demands.


Essential Experience of the Senior Project Manager

  • Considerable experience in project delivery and implementation of internal change, within a relevant project environment (a financial background or inter-company consolidation experience would be advantageous).
  • Great financial management to ensure a high level of profitability on projects.
  • Experience in understanding and controlling complex project interdependencies.
  • Experience managing projects with differing demands and deadlines.
  • Commercial awareness with an understanding of contract and commercial management.

Qualifications for the Senior Project Manager

  • Association for Project Management Project Management Qualification, Agile practitioner, Chartered project manager status or equivalent (advantageous).
  • Experience of using both agile and waterfall methodologies is highly desirable, along with understanding of project controls.

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. However, the successful candidate will be eligible to start on Standard (BPSS) security clearance but will need to achieve Security Check (SC) security clearance once in post.
