Job summary

Actemium Automation Peterborough is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead large-scale automation and electrical engineering projects from concept to completion. You will oversee lifecycle activities, manage budgets and schedules, and drive strategic initiatives within the Senior Leadership Team.

You will collaborate across disciplines, ensure regulatory and client requirements are met, and mentor junior staff while shaping long-term business plans.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading engineering, automation, or control projects.
• Strong leadership and collaborative approach.
• Proven track record delivering on time, on budget, to spec.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder skills.
• Commercial awareness and contract/procurement management.
• Familiar with Prince2, PMBOK, or Agile methodologies.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
• Engineering or related degree.

Responsibilities

• Lead, organise, and motivate teams to deliver automation and control projects.
• Develop project plans, allocate resources, manage scopes, budgets.
• Identify and manage risks, issues, dependencies, and changes.
• Act as primary client and stakeholder contact.
• Prepare and present progress reports, run multidisciplinary project meetings.
• Drive quality through standards and client requirements.
• Support junior team members and promote knowledge sharing.
• Contribute to the Senior Leadership Team and help execute the business plan.
