The Role

The Project Management office is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to work with our world-leading Time and Frequency department.

About the Department

You will join our team at an exciting time – the Time and Frequency department maintains the UK’s National Time Scale, UTC (NPL), and is currently developing a resilient Time Scale facility to underpin our Critical National Infrastructure. This initiative addresses the risks associated with our dependency on global navigation satellite systems (such as GPS) that are vulnerable to natural and intentional interference.

1. Proven success in leading R&D or commercial projects with multiple stakeholders

3. Budgeting, forecasting, and reporting skills
4. Ability to manage stakeholder expectations and project perception
5. Excellent written and oral communication skills, capable of presenting complex information
6. Experience developing and applying project management processes and tools, with a willingness to improve continuously
7. Security clearance or eligibility to obtain one is essential
8. Ability to travel within the UK

Desirable Qualifications

• Experience working within a PMO environment
• Experience in bids, project acquisition, and contract management
• Knowledge of public sector procurement processes
• Proficiency in MS Project
• PRINCE2 or APM PMQ project management qualification
