Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead complex infrastructure projects across defence, aviation, water, highways and rail in the UK. You will manage project costs, programmes and risks, mentor junior staff, and lead client relationships to deliver outcomes that meet strategic objectives.

You will bring extensive experience in full lifecycle construction projects, strong leadership and excellent communication skills, and be seasoned in NEC contract administration.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality project and programme management standards across the whole project lifecycle.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans with timelines, budgets, resources and milestones.
  • Advise clients on project cost, programme, risks and issues.
  • Lead multi-disciplinary teams across defence, aviation, water, highways and rail.
  • Lead communications and relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Produce monthly reports including programmes and risk registers.
  • Implement effective communication tools.
  • Develop delivery plans and ensure objectives are met.
  • Challenge the status quo and perform to a high standard in changing environments.
  • Mentor junior colleagues and conduct project reviews with corrective actions.

Your role
  • Provide high-quality project and programme management standards across the whole project lifecycle.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, resources, and milestones.
  • Advise clients on the project cost, programme, risks and issues.
  • Lead and manage multi-disciplinary professional teams on various sectors such as defence, aviation, water, highways and rail.
  • Lead communications and relationships with clients and their stakeholders.
  • Produce monthly reports including project programmes, risk registers etc.
  • Implement effective and efficient communication tools.
  • Develop delivery plans for projects, involve others and ensure objectives are met.
  • Challenge the status quo and perform to a high standard in changing environments.
  • Constantly pursue performance improvement.
  • Mentor and provide feedback to junior colleagues.
  • Conduct project reviews and implement corrective actions.
About You
  • Highly motivated to deliver market leading project and programme management services for our clients, and support colleagues to achieve the same.
  • Experienced in effectively managing multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Knowledgeable, passionate and experienced in the use of best practice Project & Programme Management techniques.
  • Full construction project life-cycle knowledge and experience.
  • Strong leadership, communication and time / priority management skills.
  • Highly capable in stakeholder management.
  • A proven problem solver and positive working relationship builder.
  • In-depth contract administration knowledge and experience, namely the NEC suite of contracts.
  • Hold appropriate Project Management Qualifications with the APM, RICS, NEC or similar.
  • Chartered, or working towards chartership with the APM, RICS or similar.
  • Experience in regulated environments preferable.
