A leading residential developer in London is seeking a Senior Project Manager for an 18-month contract. The role focuses on post practical completion stages, managing defect rectifications, and engaging stakeholders to ensure project success. Strong leadership and excellent communication skills are essential, along with a thorough understanding of UK construction regulations.
We are working with our client, a residential developer, responsible for award winning and sustainability focused projects across the capital who are now seeking a Senior Project Manager to support the senior team on an 18-month fixed term contract basis. In this role you will focus on post practical completion stages of their projects where you can draw upon your knowledge and experience of UK construction and regulatory frameworks. This is a great opportunity to join a well-established developer in a critical role, supporting the most senior members of the management team. A selection of projects you will be working across will include the renowned Embassy Gardens, London City Island and Wardian London.
In this role you will be responsible for: • Managing post-PC developments. • Oversight of defect rectification process including management of the investigation process, understanding the roles of the responsible contractors, professional team and the managing agent, and pursuing legal recourse. • Liaising and management of accountable contractors delivering remediation works. • Problem solving when defect issues arise. • Managing multiple stakeholders and multiple issues concurrently. • Work closely with internal teams and partners. • Monitor project progress, budgets, timelines, and risks; reporting regularly to the senior team. • Maintain strong relationships with local authorities, partners, and other external stakeholders. • Build successful relationships with site teams to ensure positive working practices.
Skills & Competencies: • Strong commercial acumen and cost awareness; • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, the ability to engage and influence. • High level of organisation and attention to detail. • Proficient in MS Office packages. • Solution-focused mindset and ability to work under pressure. • Strong leadership and organisational skills. • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities. Qualifications & Experience: • Broad knowledge of UK construction, with a strong working knowledge of trade contracts. • Experienced in managing adjudication - complex insurance claims and settlements. • Experience in residential, commercial, or mixed-use developments within a developer consultancy or main contractor environment. • Experience of working with a Joint Venture partner. • Experience in presenting information to senior stakeholders.
