Job summary

CSC Recruitment Ltd is currently partnering with an established commercial fit-out contractor in London to appoint a Senior Project Manager. You will oversee a portfolio of live commercial fit-out projects, coordinating Project Managers and Site Managers, clients and the delivery team to keep progress on track across London.

The role is heavily site- and client-focused, with regular site visits and one day per week from home.

Qualifications

• Strong experience delivering CAT A and CAT B fit-out projects.
• Experience overseeing multiple projects or a wider portfolio.
• Experience mentoring or supporting Project Managers and Site Managers.
• Solid scheduling and project planning capabilities.
• Experience with tendering, pricing and project pitches.
• Strong client-facing skills and relationship building.

Responsibilities

Senior Project Manager - Commercial Fit Out

London | Freelance | ASAP Start | 6 Month Contract

We are currently working with an established commercial fit out contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Project Manager to take responsibility for the management and coordination of their wider project portfolio across London.

This is a senior position where you will have oversight of multiple live commercial fit out projects, working closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, clients and the wider delivery team to ensure the portfolio is well organised, communicated and progressing as planned.

The role is heavily site and client focused, with regular visits across London forming a key part of the position. There is one day per week available to work from home, with the remainder of the role predominantly site and office based.

The Role

You will take a senior-level overview of the company's projects, ensuring that the delivery teams have the support, direction and organisation required to keep projects moving successfully.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing and overseeing a portfolio of multiple commercial fit out projects across London
• Providing support, direction and oversight to Project Managers and Site Managers
• Regularly visiting project sites to monitor progress, address issues and ensure projects are being delivered as planned
• Maintaining clear and consistent communication across project teams, clients and internal stakeholders
• Ensuring projects are properly organised, programmed and resourced
• Overseeing project programmes and ensuring key milestones are being achieved
• Managing tendering and pricing exercises
• Supporting pitches and presentations for new project opportunities
• Conducting interviews and supporting the recruitment of Project Managers, Site Managers and other project staff
• Preparing and delivering weekly project and portfolio reports
• Maintaining strong relationships with existing clients and acting as a senior point of contact
• Attending client meetings and providing regular updates on project performance
• Identifying potential issues across the portfolio and ensuring they are addressed proactively
• Supporting Project Managers with any commercial, operational or delivery challenges
• Ensuring projects are delivered to the required quality, programme and client expectations
• Maintaining oversight of project documentation and reporting
• Ensuring the overall portfolio remains organised, with clear actions, responsibilities and deadlines

About You

We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager from a commercial fit out / design & build background who is comfortable operating at a senior level across multiple projects.

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Strong experience delivering commercial CAT A and CAT B fit out projects
• Experience overseeing multiple projects or a wider project portfolio
• Previous experience managing or supporting Project Managers and Site Managers
• Strong programming and project planning experience
• Experience with tendering, pricing and project pitches
• Strong client-facing experience and the ability to build and maintain relationships
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• The confidence to challenge, support and manage project teams
• Experience producing regular project reports and providing senior-level updates
• A proactive approach to identifying and resolving problems
• Strong understanding of commercial fit-out project delivery
• The ability to work independently and keep a large number of moving parts organised
• Comfortable spending significant time visiting sites across London

Working Pattern

This is a predominantly site and office-based position, with regular travel across London required to oversee the project portfolio.

There is one day per week available to work from home, however the successful candidate will need to be comfortable being highly visible across the projects and spending the majority of their time on site.
