Job summary

NUVIA UK is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead complex civil engineering or infrastructure projects in Glasgow. The role is hybrid, requires coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and delivering against regulated standards and NEC4 contracts.

The successful candidate will engage senior stakeholders, manage scope, cost, schedule and risk while upholding safety and quality across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Significant experience leading major civil engineering or infrastructure projects in a highly regulated environment.
• Strong contract administration and project delivery under NEC4.
• Experience managing change control, commercial issues, risk and opportunity on complex projects.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and engage senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Looking for:

• Experienced in leading complex civil engineering or infrastructure projects in a regulated environment.
• Able to lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate designers, contractors, project controls and commercial specialists.
• Strong communicators, able to engage confidently with senior stakeholders, technical specialists and supply chain partners.
• Comfortable making decisions, managing risk and resolving issues in a complex delivery environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Team leadership - inspire your team to deliver excellence.
• H&S - carry out client CDM duties, comply with H&S legislation and lead safety culture.
• Manage stakeholders to commercial parameters and performance criteria so business case so that the project is a success.
• Managing scope, cost, schedule, quality and risk across assigned projects throughout lifecycle to handover.
• Be the Employer under the NEC4 contract and appoint a suitably qualified Technical Scope Provider and Works Contractor to stand up the contract in line with procurement policy
• Complete the procurement and manage the project within its approved performance, time, and cost envelope in line with commercial policies
• Complete monthly supplier performance feedback.
• Complete all of monthly progress and commercial reporting requirements.
• Comply with assurance requirements.
• As part of the leadership team contribute to continuous improvement by leading and delivering business improvement activities.

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Available to work in Glasgow at least 3 days per week with potential travelacross the UK.
• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
• Significant experience leading major civil engineering or infrastructure projects in a highly regulated environment.
• Proven delivery experience across the full project lifecycle, including design development, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover.
• Strong working knowledge of contract administration and project delivery under NEC4 forms of contract.
• Demonstrable experience managing change control, commercial issues, risk and opportunity on complex infrastructure projects.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing contractor and consultant performance to achieve programme outcomes.
• Strong stakeholder management, reporting and governance skills, with the confidence to engage at senior level.
• Chartered status, or working towards chartership, with a relevant professional institution.
• NEC4 ECC Accredited Project Manager, or willingness to achieve this soon.

Desirable:

• SMSTS or equivalent site management qualification.
• Previous experience delivering heavy civils, structural, utilities or defence infrastructure projects.
• APM project management qualification.
• Experience using CEMAR or similar contract administration systems.
