Client: Local Authority in Croydon

Job Title: Senior Project Manager

Pay Rate: £456 DAILY

Hours: 36 Hours a week (Mon-Fri) 9AM-5PM

Duration: 5 Month Contract

Location: First few weeks based in the office, then possible hybrid working 2 days a week from home. Please note: Hybrid working is not guaranteed and depends on the needs of the service.

Role Overview

This post manages a team of officers in the Pre-construction team. The focus is on delivering large 'Special Projects', including expertise in procurement, Fire risk assessment, building safety and compliance, and planning rectification programmes to ensure Croydon Council's statutory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Make decisions regarding planning & remedial actions, understanding their consequences and the importance of decisions, considering the needs of tenants and leaseholders.
2. Plan, manage, and direct pre-construction teams on various projects.
3. Research the latest trends in products, components, materials, and construction techniques. Stay updated on changes in legislation, regulation, and codes of practice; develop solutions to housing needs; contribute to policy development; implement plans and strategies; and participate in funding bids along with cost-benefit analyses.
4. Lead and manage innovative high-value or specialist projects such as digital services, estate regeneration schemes, environmental sustainability programs, and new initiatives arising from government directives.

Must be able to drive using own transport (car). The post-holder may occasionally attend meetings or events in the evenings or at weekends.

Relevant Project Management qualification and experience are required.
