Job summary

Henderson Scott is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager for a banking migration programme. The role is fully remote, six-month contract, Inside IR35, with potential extension in a regulated environment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in consulting or managed services, extensive delivery and financial management experience, and proven ability to manage cross‑functional teams and complex data, cloud and software migrations.

Senior Project Manager - Banking Migration Programme

Fully Remote | Six-Month Contract | Inside IR35

Henderson Scott is supporting a global consultancy delivering a new banking programme.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager with a strong background in consulting, outsourcing or managed-service delivery. This is a hands-on delivery role involving complex software, cloud and data-migration workstreams within a regulated environment.

The initial contract is for six months, with significant potential for extension due to the length and scale of the wider programme.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage complex technology projects and workstreams from initiation through to implementation.

• Deliver software, application, cloud and data-migration initiatives.

• Establish and maintain robust project governance, plans, RAID logs, dependencies and change controls.

• Manage distributed delivery teams, third-party suppliers and consultancy partners.

• Own project budgets, forecasting, actuals, resource costs and supplier spend.

• Identify opportunities to improve resource utilisation and control delivery costs.

• Provide clear financial and delivery reporting to senior stakeholders.

• Coordinate testing, cutover, implementation and operational readiness.

• Ensure projects deliver against agreed scope, timescales, cost and quality expectations.

Essential Experience

• Extensive experience as a Senior Project Manager, Technical Project Manager or Delivery Manager.

• A strong background working for a consultancy, outsourcing provider, systems integrator or managed-service organisation.

• Proven software or application delivery experience.

• Cloud delivery or migration experience, ideally involving Azure or AWS.

• Experience delivering data, application, infrastructure or customer migration programmes.

• Strong project financial-management experience, including budget ownership, forecasting, actuals, resource costs and cost control.

• Experience managing suppliers, offshore teams and distributed delivery resources.

• Strong governance, RAID, dependency and formal change-control experience.

• Excellent stakeholder-management and communication skills.

Desirable Experience

• Banking or wider financial-services experience.

• Delivery within a highly regulated environment.

• Large-scale customer or account migration.

• Cutover, service transition and operational-readiness experience.

• Experience managing commercial agreements, statements of work and supplier performance.

This is a fully remote contract, although occasional travel may be required for key programme meetings.
