Job Title: Senior Project Manager
Reports To: Director of Asset Management
Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Knowledge of renewable energy supply chains and technologies, with experience collaborating with experts to select suitable solutions.
- Knowledge of electrical systems and/or civil works.
- Experience in soliciting, generating, evaluating, and selecting capital investment projects.
- Experience presenting projects for technical and commercial review and obtaining investment approval.
- Experience producing, reviewing, and approving project plans and programs.
- Proven ability to deliver projects safely, on time, within budget, and to high quality standards.
- Strong knowledge of relevant HSE legislation and guidance.
- Prince2 or equivalent project management certification.
- Experience managing projects under CDM regulations.
- Safety qualifications such as IOSH or NeBOSH.
- Experience in renewable energy project delivery.
- Ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project pipelines progress efficiently.
Role Purpose:
The Senior Project Manager will oversee strategic project management within the Bluefield Asset Management function, focusing on identifying, selecting, and completing upgrade, repair, and remediation projects on renewable energy assets to maximize their value and support business objectives. The role involves influencing senior stakeholders to secure approval for projects and communicating progress effectively.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Project Development
- Identify Opportunities: Collaborate with O&M, Analytics, AM teams, and others to research and identify major works projects based on H&S or performance risks and opportunities.
- Feasibility Studies: Conduct technical, financial, and environmental assessments with internal or external engineering resources.
- Funding: Engage with AM, Commercial, and Finance teams to secure project funding aligned with business priorities.
- Project Planning: Develop detailed plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocations for annual budgeting.
Gaining Approval
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure projects meet all relevant regulations and standards.
- Permitting: Obtain necessary permits and approvals from regulatory authorities.
- Risk Management: Identify, communicate, and mitigate project risks.
Contracting Out
- Project Tendering: Prepare specifications and manage tendering processes with Procurement.
- Supplier Selection: Evaluate bids and select suppliers.
- Contract Negotiation: Work with Legal and Procurement to negotiate favorable contracts.
- Procurement: Ensure timely procurement of materials and services.
Implementation Oversight
- Project Execution: Monitor project progress, ensuring adherence to schedule and budget, and coordinate with stakeholders.
- Quality Control: Implement measures to meet standards and specifications.
- Progress Reporting: Provide regular updates to stakeholders.
- Issue Resolution: Address challenges promptly during implementation.
Post-Implementation
- Commissioning: Oversee asset commissioning, ensuring operational readiness and documentation.
- Performance Monitoring: Track ongoing asset performance for future investment insights.
- Project Closure: Conduct reviews, document lessons learned, and close projects.
Additional Details
Location: Bristol Central with frequent UK travel; hybrid working available. Overseas travel may be required for training. Must be able to drive.
Hours: 37.5 hours/week, Monday to Friday, 9:00 am - 5:30 pm.
