Job description

Join QinetiQ as a Senior Project Manager within the Mission Rehearsal Integrated Delivery Team (IDT). The IDT is responsible for modernising and transforming QinetiQ’s capabilities across the air ranges. The current Long Term Partnering Agreement (LTPA) runs until at least 2028, with a clear focus on transforming the UK Air Ranges by introducing new and modern capabilities.

As a Senior Project Manager, you will drive excellence in multiple projects, overseeing the safe delivery of a diverse portfolio of strategically important investment projects as part of the Air Ranges Modernisation (ARM) Programme, reporting directly to the Programme Manager. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Enabling key digital, data, and communication capability enhancements
• Developing and maintaining relationships with customers
• Collaborating with experienced engineers to identify new capabilities for the range
• Managing external and internal stakeholders
• Leading the development of business cases for future capabilities
• Maintaining key project documents including Project Management Plan, Risk Register, and Project Reporting Pack
• Delivering a mix of standard and major projects with interdependencies
• Generating workload forecasts to support resource planning

This role is full-time, 37 hours per week, based at our Bristol site. Willingness to travel to other sites is required.

Experience required:

• Proven experience leading and successfully delivering complex projects
• Experience with defence, engineering, and/or IT projects
• Strong stakeholder management skills
• Ability to manage multiple external customers
• Experience in Defence, Aerospace, or related sectors

Qualifications:

• Degree (or equivalent) in an appropriate discipline
• Recognised project management qualification (APM PPQ or Prince2)
