Job summary

Thornton Tomasetti, a global engineering and consulting firm, seeks a Senior Project Engineer for its Protective Design and Security practice. You will deliver security planning and design advice across the UK, Europe and the Middle East, handling threat assessments, security planning, and physical/electronic design within projects and client requirements.

The role involves ensuring quality, budget and schedule alignment while providing technical guidance and professional advice to project teams

Qualifications

• Degree in relevant subject.
• 5-10 years' experience in a relevant role.
• Experience in design of physical security solutions.
• Must be able to obtain UK security vetting clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide security design advice to clients at all stages of the project lifecycle.
• Carry out concept, outline, scheme and detailed designs for electronic security systems.
• Design works for physical security measures against manual forced entry.
• Prepare contract and tender documentation, review tenders and award contracts.
• Conduct security surveys and provide reports with upgrade recommendations and costings.
• Monitor works, witness testing and commissioning; produce close‑out documentation.
• Collaborate with colleagues, clients, suppliers, and contractors to ensure successful project delivery.
• Demonstrate experience in managing and delivering projects; communicate with clients and stakeholders effectively.
