Job summary

Siemens Energy in Manchester seeks a Senior Project Engineer to lead high voltage primary work packages above 132kV. You will coordinate engineering activities, ensure safety, quality, and budget adherence, and guide offers preparation and delivery for major grid projects.

You will collaborate with design, test and manufacturing to deliver reliable electrical packages, oversee subcontracting, and manage scope, schedule, cost, and quality across international teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher in electrical engineering or related field.
• About 5 years of experience in high voltage transmission equipment and project management.
• Proficiency with MS Office and standard PM tools.
• Business fluent English; German a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the ‘Primary Equipment’ project scope on budget and on schedule.
• Coordinate between design, test and manufacturing to produce electrical design packages.
• Manage technical aspects of transmission equipment offers and orders.
• Plan, monitor and control project delivery including scope, schedule, cost and quality.
• Oversee subcontracting and manage subcontract packages across the lifecycle.

You will coordinate engineering work packages, ensuring they meet safety, quality, performance, and budget requirements. How You’ll Make an Impact

• Accountable for delivering the ‘Primary Equipment’ project scope on budget and on schedule, ensuring safety and quality standards are met.
• Coordinate between design, test, and manufacturing functions to produce reliable electrical design and engineering packages.
• Manage the technical aspects of transmission equipment offers and order processing, collaborating closely with project management and engineering teams.
• Plan, monitor, and control project delivery, including scope definition, scheduling, costing, and quality control.
• Oversee subcontracting and manage subcontract packages, ensuring effective communication and coordination throughout the project lifecycle.

What You Bring

• A completed university degree in electrical engineering, electrical power engineering, or a related field, with a standard duration of over 3 years.
• Approximately 5 years of experience in high voltage transmission equipment and auxiliary systems, with a proven track record in project management.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications and project management tools.
• Business fluent communication in English; German language skills are a plus.
• Intercultural experience and a willingness to travel for business as needed.
