Job description

Job Description: Senior Project Engineer (MEICA) - Nuclear Safety Implicated Facility

Joining the project at the Concept Design stage, you will influence the development of engineering solutions for a new build, multi-discipline, Nuclear Safety Implicated facility. You will collaborate with a multi-functional project delivery team and interface with external stakeholders, including end-user client representatives, partner designers, sub-designers/consultants, and our supply chain to develop design solutions that balance time, cost, quality, and safety.

Throughout the project lifecycle, as a Senior Project Engineer, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating project technical scope elements, working with SMEs and supply chain partners to ensure successful project delivery.

You may lead a small team of MEICA engineers and will be accountable for their outputs.

You will oversee all aspects of the MEICA scope, supporting the Project Manager in engineering and contractor management activities.

Aligned with the Engineering Function (MEICA), you will be part of a project delivery team, supporting a discipline within a multidisciplinary construction project on behalf of operations or project lead.

You will deliver the assigned scope through the project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with legislative and project standards, Morgan Sindall standards, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Level 6 Bachelor of Engineering degree, 2:1 or above, in mechanical or electrical engineering, accredited by a professional institution (e.g., IMechE, IET, IChemE, CIBSE).
  • Alternatively, a Level 4 qualification with relevant experience and CPD training.
  • Primary engineering discipline experience (Mechanical or Electrical) with a broader understanding of multi-discipline management.
  • Experience across project lifecycle phases, from Concept Design to Handover, with a focus on construction and commissioning.
  • Experience influencing engineering solutions from early design stages.
  • Contract/sub-contract management experience, preferably with NEC contracts.
  • UK nationality, with the ability to obtain SC security clearance.

Desirable technical experience includes procurement and commissioning of Diesel Gensets and ancillary systems, and Mechanical Services.
