Job summary

Safran Actuation Systems UK in Banbury is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead design, qualification and production support for composite products in a fast-paced environment. You will work within the engineering team to develop components, perform analyses and ensure compliance with technical requirements.

The role demands CAD proficiency, GD&T knowledge, and hands-on testing experience, with opportunities for professional development and a competitive package.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Highly motivated with initiative.
• Clear, collaborative communication skills.
• Flexible and adaptable in a dynamic, inclusive team culture.
• Able to analyse and solve engineering problems from first principles.
• Willing to take a hands-on approach to developing components and testing methods.
• Willing to work in both office-based and test-lab environments.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed CAD models and drawings (NX beneficial), with FEA knowledge expected.
• Liaise with customers and suppliers to determine technical requirements.
• Review and approve component and assembly drawings with GD&T.
• Generate qualification test/analysis strategy for novel composite components.
• Perform or oversee qualification and development testing in-house and at subcontract facilities.
• Author, review and approve qualification test procedures and reports.
• Generate engineering performance/stress reports for existing and novel components.
• Collaborate cross-functionally for DFMEA, PFMEAs and risk assessments.
• Manage engineering changes and change processes; Teamcenter knowledge is beneficial.
