The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for supporting business strategy to maximize long-term profitability. To consistently monitor performance of the Projects, identify wastefulness and areas for improvement, and implement strategies to make all stages of the project process as efficient and effective as possible. They will be overseeing the delivery of all elements of Dalkia Nuclear Projects covering, Commercial, SHEQ, Project Delivery, Resource Management, Procurement (Suppliers & Sub-contractors).

They will be supported by a multi-disciplinary team at the various stages of the process including Director, Operations Manager, Contract Manager, Lead Project Manager, Estimating, QS, H&S Manager, Site & Project Managers.

Main responsibilities and key outcomes

As the Senior Project Engineer, you will be reporting directly into the Lead Project Manager, working on a portfolio of projects from tender to aftercare, ensuring adherence to project timescales, health & wellbeing, and commercial governance, while managing risks and opportunities. You will work closely with the Operations Manager and Lead Project Manager to assist decision-making.

This is a full-time opportunity based at Sizewell Power Station with travel to other sites.

Reports to: Lead Project Manager

Manages who: Project Engineers, Contractors & Suppliers employed on your contracts.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor project delivery, identify risks and opportunities, and work with stakeholders to optimize outcomes.
• Assess the 'constructability' of designs and ensure feasibility within timelines.
• Lead construction delivery, ensuring compliance with company processes.
• Review and approve contractor documents as delegated.
• Support and develop the engineering team and participate in project steering groups.
• Perform site surveys and liaise with designers.
• Proofread and approve drawings as required.
• Act as point of contact for site issues where appropriate.
• Manage the implementation of systems for a Right First-Time approach.
• Own Handover Documentation for sections.
• Drive operational target programs aligned with the construction schedule.
• Identify strategic training needs for team development.
• Manage subcontractors and advise on commercial and operational risks.
• Support work-winning with technical input.
• Fulfill roles such as EDF approved supervisor, nominated competent person, etc.
• Produce EC&I RAMS & Quality plans for client review.
• Assist in managing larger, complex projects with multiple teams.
• Apply project management knowledge and best practices across projects.
• Evaluate situations using multiple information sources and adapt plans accordingly.
• Ensure projects meet service levels and financial targets, maintaining customer satisfaction.
• Build and own relationships with clients and stakeholders.
• Coach and mentor Project Engineers.
• Seek innovative ways to expand project scope and manage costs.
• Manage all project aspects including Commercial, SHEQ, Resources, and Planning.
• Prepare and issue project documentation and reports.
• Support commercial and estimating processes.
• Maintain records per company guidelines.
• Ensure sufficient manpower for projects.

• Implement documented management procedures across sites and projects.
