Location: Birmingham (Hybrid)
Salary: Up to £101,677.20 per year (dependent on experience)
A major infrastructure organisation is looking for a Senior Project Engineer to join the team delivering one of the most significant new rail stations in the UK. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in the delivery of Birmingham Interchange for HS2, leading engineering activities through the design phase before progressing into construction. Working within an integrated project team, you'll be responsible for managing technical assurance, driving design quality and ensuring successful integration between civils, structures, and rail systems on a highly complex programme.
Reporting to the Head of Engineering & Environment, you'll provide engineering leadership throughout the development and delivery of Birmingham Interchange, a major new station comprising two island platforms, overbridges, a large multi-storey car park and extensive interfaces with surrounding infrastructure and urban development.
Initially, the focus will be on taking the project through the redesign and detailed design phases, working closely with design consultants and key stakeholders before transitioning into construction and site delivery over the coming years.
You'll act as the technical lead across the project, ensuring designs are robust, technically compliant and fully integrated with neighbouring contracts and future railway systems. The role will also provide the opportunity to build and develop your own engineering team as the project progresses.
