Senior Project Development Manager – BESS (Battery Storage) and Solar

Leap29 is recruiting on behalf of a company with a strong pipeline of BESS projects across Europe, particularly in the UK.

As a Senior Project Development Manager, you will lead the development of BESS projects across the UK, requiring advanced knowledge of the UK development and interconnection process, including co-development activities.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Proactively manage BESS development projects and collaborate with partners.
2. Provide regular updates to senior leadership.
3. Oversee subcontractors.
4. Act as the primary contact with the project team of specialists, consultants, and legal advisors.
5. Identify new projects to add to the pipeline.
6. Participate in site visits and community consultation events, representing the company.
7. Attend stakeholder meetings to ensure project progression.
8. Stay informed of market developments and industry news to identify risks and opportunities.
9. Possess expert knowledge of the UK interconnection process and interact with DNOs.

Your Profile:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Law, Land, Property, Planning, Environmental Studies, or related discipline.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in utility-scale solar project development and over 5 years in the renewables sector.
• Skilled in negotiating land agreements and managing planning processes.
• Valid driving license.
• Expert knowledge of UK grid interconnection agreements and processes.
