WEBRECRUIT is recruiting a Senior Project Co-ordinator in London to lead the development and delivery of a community exercise programme for older people, supporting independence and wellbeing.

The role is part-time (28 hours over four days) with hybrid working, offering volunteer recruitment and training, line management of the Project Co-ordinator, and reporting to funders. This is an inclusive employer committed to equality of opportunity.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee recruitment, training and ongoing support of volunteers; line manage the Project Co-ordinator.
  • Lead the marketing and promotion of the service and ensure safeguarding concerns are addressed.
  • Monitor and evaluate the service, track targets and provide reports to funders and management.

They are now looking for a Senior Project Co-ordinator to join them on a permanent, part-time basis, working 28 hours per week across four days.

You’ll have the chance to lead a service that helps older people regain confidence, independence and connection after a fall, stroke or illness, whilst regaining their independence and rediscovering a sense of connection and purpose.

What’s more, with hybrid working and 28 hours spread across four days, you’ll have greater space to balance meaningful work with life outside the role, while still benefiting from training opportunities and a supportive, inclusive culture.

The Role

As a Senior Project Co-ordinator, you will lead the development and delivery of our client’s community exercise programme, supporting isolated older people across London to stay active, independent and connected following a fall, stroke or other illness.

Working closely with referral partners, you will co-ordinate referrals and match older people with trained volunteers who will provide motivational companionship and support them to maintain their exercise programme over nine weeks.

You will oversee each placement, ensuring referrals are appropriate, risks are managed, and clients and volunteers receive the support they need.

Alongside this, you will oversee the monitoring and evaluation of the service, tracking project targets and outcomes, and providing reports to funders and management.

Additionally, you will:

  • Lead the recruitment, training and ongoing support of volunteers

  • Lead the marketing and promotion of the service
  • Highlight safeguarding concerns where appropriate
  • Connect clients with our client’s other activities and services
  • Maintain accessible and appropriate project communications
About You

To be considered as a Senior Project Co-ordinator, you will need:

  • Experience of delivering a successful project or service
  • Experience of working with volunteers (recruiting, training and supporting)
  • Experience of working with and relating to people from a wide variety of backgrounds
  • Experience of monitoring and evaluation
  • Knowledge and understanding of the specific issues affecting older people
  • Knowledge of involving people in the design and development of a service
  • An understanding of diversity and equality
  • The ability to demonstrate a warm, positive and empathetic approach
  • An understanding of risk assessment procedures, health & safety and safeguarding issues

Please note, the successful applicant will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
