Job summary

First Recruitment Group in Glasgow is seeking an experienced Project Controls Manager to join our client’s energy and infrastructure team. You will oversee cost control, forecasting, cash flow and reporting across major EPC projects.

You will work with Project Managers and senior stakeholders to deliver robust controls, EVM, change management and timely financial performance, ensuring successful project delivery.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in Project Controls within an EPC/engineering/infrastructure environment.
• Strong knowledge of cost control, forecasting, earned value management, change control, and project reporting.
• Experience managing project cash flow, invoicing, and financial performance.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficient in project controls and reporting software.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project cost structures, controls, and forecasting models.
• Monitor project performance, budgets, cost trends, and variances.
• Lead Earned Value Management (EVM) and project cost reporting activities.
• Produce monthly reports covering cost, revenue, cash flow, risks, and progress.
• Implement early warning indicators and recovery plans where required.
• Support tendering activities with cost estimates and cash flow projections.
• Manage change control, variations, claims, and contractual obligations.
• Ensure positive project cash flow through invoicing and financial planning.
• Collaborate with Project Management, Engineering, Construction, and Finance teams.
• Supervise and support Project Controllers across project teams.
