Job summary

Ably Resources Ltd is seeking an experienced Project Controls Manager to join a well-established engineering business delivering major power transmission, substation and energy infrastructure projects across the UK. You will oversee project cost performance, forecasting and commercial controls.

You will manage budgets, cash flow, EVM implementation, cost reporting and governance, and support project managers with cost overruns and change control.

Qualifications

• This role requires experience in Project Controls, Cost Control or Project Cost Management.
• Background in power transmission, substations, utilities, EPC or major infrastructure projects is preferable.
• Strong understanding of cost forecasting, cash flow, EVM and financial reporting.
• Experience managing project budgets, variations and change control.
• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience is advantageous.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage project cost control, budgets, forecasting and cash flow.
• Monitor project performance using earned value management (EVM) principles.
• Oversee cost reporting, revenue forecasting and project financial performance.
• Manage project variations, change control and associated risks.
• Support project managers in identifying potential cost overruns and implementing corrective actions.
• Lead and support Project Controllers, ensuring effective reporting and project governance.
• Work closely with engineering, commercial and project delivery teams.
