The project:

Come and join our expanding Sizewell C (SZC) team and work on one of the most exciting and largest megaprojects in the UK, whilst being at the forefront of the UK’s climate change agenda and energy policy. the SZC Project is a nuclear new build project in Suffolk. When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, which along with renewables, will support Britain to achieve Net Zero by 2050.

Working for the PMO lead functionally and embedded within one of the Delivery Programmes to take responsibility for all aspects of Project Controls. To help lead the establishment, development, maintenance of timely, accurate cost data, and reports, including forecasts, performance analysis, earned value, Estimates to complete, and monthly reports on the Actual Cost of Work Performed (ACWP).

It is the overarching objective of the Project Controls Function to act as a centre of excellence: the intelligent owners of the single source of delivery performance information, operating as an integrated enabler for the successful delivery of the SZC Project.

You will supports the HUB PMO and project controls director with resourcing and recruitment for the assigned commission.

You’ll need to have:

Membership of RICS, CIOB, APM, ICE or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.

Extensive experience in the successful delivery phase of projects and programmes.

Detailed understanding of governance, strategic planning techniques, strategic risk analysis, construction technology, delivery, site logistics, commercial & legal / contract issues

Deep property or infrastructure project management expertise.

Strong commercial and financial acumen.

Leadership and management experience of large, diverse teams.

Experience of managing relationships with key senior stakeholders.

Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.

Note: Please note this role will be based in our client’s office a minimum of 3 days per week. This role will require BPSS security clearance. This role will be to lead on the project controls element on baseline and change management for one of the programmes / work streams. Previous experience of this is essential.
