Job summary

Senior Project Controllers based in Malvern offer a 12-month assignment in the Defence sector. The role is hybrid, paying £300 per day via umbrella, with eligibility for SC clearance.

You will develop, monitor, and control integrated project schedules, manage budgets and forecasting, and produce stakeholder-ready reporting across the project lifecycle, collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimise delivery and governance.

Qualifications

• Experience in project controls across complex environments.
• Understanding of project lifecycles and delivery methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid).
• Ability to independently plan, monitor and control project performance.
• Experience producing project schedules, forecasting costs, and delivering management reporting.
• Active SC Clearance or eligibility is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and monitor integrated project schedules aligned to programme needs.
• Manage project budgets, forecasts and cost performance; analyse variances and take corrective actions.
• Produce project reporting with insights into schedule, financial position, risks and delivery status.
• Support governance and assurance activities; ensure controls processes and standards are applied.
• Collaborate with project/resource teams to optimise delivery plans and performance.
• Provide analysis and recommendations to support planning, forecasting and decision-making.

Our client within the Defence industry is searching for 3 Project Controllers to join their team in Malvern on an initial 12-Month Assignment. This is an opportunity to work alongside talented project professionals, providing the insight, planning and control needed to ensure successful project delivery throughout the entire lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and monitor integrated project schedules, ensuring resource requirements are accurately reflected and aligned to programme needs.
• Manage project budgets, forecasts and cost performance, analysing variances and identifying corrective actions where required.
• Produce meaningful project reporting, providing stakeholders with clear insights into schedule performance, financial position, risks and delivery status.
• Support governance and assurance activities, ensuring project controls processes and standards are applied consistently.
• Collaborate with project and resource management teams to optimise delivery plans and improve overall project performance.
• Provide analysis and recommendations to support effective planning, forecasting and decision-making.

About You

To be successful in this role, you'll bring:

• Strong experience within project controls across complex project environments.
• A solid understanding of project lifecycles and delivery methodologies, including Agile, Waterfall and Hybrid approaches.
• The ability to independently plan, monitor and control project performance with minimal supervision.
• Experience producing project schedules, forecasting costs and delivering management reporting.
• Excellent analytical and stakeholder management skills.
• Active SC Clearance

Desirable Qualifications

• ECITB Certificate in Project Controls.
• APMG Project Planning & Control (PPC) Practitioner certification, or currently working towards it.
• Relevant project controls or project management qualifications.
