Job summary

GTS Group Ltd. seeks an experienced Senior Planner to lead planning and governance for a major rail programme on an 18-month fixed-term contract. The role operates within the PMO, overseeing schedules, reporting and deliverability across a complex portfolio and influencing senior stakeholders.

The role goes beyond traditional scheduling, combining programme planning, governance, commercial reporting and business performance, with extensive Primavera P6 usage across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience with Primavera P6
• Experience at programme level with planning
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
• Ability to lead planning professionals and teams
• Knowledge of railway processes is advantageous

Responsibilities

• Lead the production, maintenance and governance of programme schedules
• Ensure central programme plan remains the single source of truth
• Challenge planning assumptions and identify deliverability risks
• Produce scenario plans for future programme decisions
• Develop reporting for senior leadership and external stakeholders
• Ensure schedules meet contractual and governance requirements
• Manage and develop the Planning team
• Support annual planning and rebaselining activities
• Use P6 to support resource, timesheet and financial reporting
• Develop planning processes, standards and good practice
• Build relationships with senior stakeholders up to Director level
