NHS Blood & Transplant seeks an experienced Senior Programme Manager to lead complex, high-value digital programmes delivering transformational change and strategic benefits aligned with NHSBT objectives.

You will oversee scoping, planning and end-to-end delivery, manage resources, risks and dependencies, drive benefits realisation and lead multi-disciplinary teams within a matrix environment while engaging senior stakeholders.

Job description

As a Senior Programme Manager, the post holder will lead complex, high-value programmes that deliver transformational change and strategic benefits, supporting NHSBTs long-term objectives. The post holder will:

  • Lead the scoping, definition and planning of complex programmes, translating organisational priorities into deliverable plans aligned to NHSBT objectives.
  • Drive end-to-end programme delivery, ensuring outcomes are achieved on time, within budget and to agreed quality standards, while managing resources, risks, issues and dependencies.
  • Establish and oversee benefits management, ensuring measurable value, sustainable outcomes and alignment with organisational goals.
  • Lead multi-disciplinary teams within a matrix environment, promoting collaboration, innovation and high performance to deliver programme objectives.
  • Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor and influencing decisions through effective communication and engagement.
  • Undertake line management responsibilities where required, supporting performance, development and succession planning.
  • Act as a senior leader within NHSBT, contributing to strategic planning and championing continuous improvement, equity, diversity and inclusion.

    You will have an innovative, problem-solving approach, with strong stakeholder management skills and experience in change transformation. The establishment of a national Assessment and Recovery Centre (ARC) service will extend equitable access to life-saving products and treatments to everyone that needs them and bridge the gap between shortage of organs available and demand.
