Job summary

NHS Blood and Transplant is seeking a Donor Centre Administrator to support donor services across the organisation. You will build strong relationships with donors, manage appointment schedules, and ensure an outstanding experience for visitors and callers.

You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, using organisational skills and attention to detail to keep donor records and centre administration accurate and efficient.

Responsibilities

  • Build relationships with donors and manage appointment schedules.
  • Provide excellent customer experience by welcoming donors and responding to enquiries by phone, email, and in person.
  • Manage donor records and information systems with high accuracy to support safe donation services.
  • Analyse donor attendance and donation information to support service performance and continuity.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance donor experience and administrative processes.
  • Work closely with nurses, healthcare assistants, managers and colleagues to deliver a high-quality service for donors and patients.
  • Ensure confidential information and records are managed in line with policies and data protection requirements.

Job description

As a Donor Centre Administrator, you will play a vital role in helping NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) deliver life-saving blood donations to patients who need them. You will build strong relationships with donors, manage appointment schedules, and provide an outstanding experience for everyone visiting or contacting the donor centre. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will use your organisational skills, attention to detail, and technical expertise to ensure donor records, appointments, and centre administration are managed accurately and efficiently. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to patient care, develop specialist skills, and help ensure donors are available when they are needed most., Build positive relationships with donors, helping ensure donation appointments are planned and maintained to meet patient needs.

Deliver an excellent customer experience by welcoming donors and responding to enquiries by phone, email, and in person with professionalism, compassion, and respect.

Manage donor appointments, records, and information systems with a high level of accuracy to support safe and effective donation services.

Analyse donor attendance and donation information, taking appropriate action to support service performance and continuity. Use your expertise with NHSBT systems and software to support efficient centre operations and help colleagues develop their knowledge.

Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance donor experience, administrative processes, and service delivery.

Work closely with nurses, healthcare assistants, managers, and other colleagues to deliver a high-quality service for donors and patients.

Ensure confidential information, records, and administrative processes are managed in line with policies, procedures, and data protection requirements.
