Job summary

National Highways is seeking a Programme Delivery Manager to lead a portfolio of tunnels and technology projects in the South East region. Based from Guildford, Basingstoke or Maidstone, you will direct delivery, budgets, and performance for an in-year capital programme.

You will manage a team of Project Managers, ensure outcomes, safety standards, and customer experience, while driving efficiencies and reporting on progress.

Qualifications

• Qualified in an engineering discipline or proven delivery of civil projects.
• Experience delivering high value capital investment programmes and project portfolios.
• Knowledge of technology and tunnels renewal projects.
• Understanding of CDM and health and safety regulations.
• Knowledge of highways construction and maintenance practices.
• Experience with supplier and contract management.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of tunnels and technology project portfolios within the in-year programme.
• Ensure projects meet quality, cost, and time targets and safety standards.
• Manage capital budgets and ensure effective financial practices.
• Identify and deliver efficiencies within own area.
• Provide leadership and oversight of supplier performance and risk management.
