Job summary

National Highways is seeking a Programme Delivery Manager to drive a portfolio of tunnels and technology projects within the South East capital programme. You will lead a team of Project Managers, ensuring delivery within quality, cost and time targets and supporting customer outcomes.

The role involves budget governance, performance reporting and proactive improvement across delivery, with opportunities to base in Guildford, Basingstoke or Maidstone offices.

Qualifications

• Proven track record delivering civil engineering programmes and capital investments.
• Experience managing large project portfolios within public sector or similar.
• Knowledge of technology and tunnels renewal projects.
• Strong CDM and health and safety compliance experience.
• Understanding of Highways Construction & Maintenance practices.
• Experience in supplier and contract management.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of tunnels and technology portfolios within the Region's in-year capital programme.
• Ensure projects meet agreed quality, cost and time targets and customer outcomes.
• Lead the management and reporting of capital expenditure budgets.
• Identify efficiencies and implement changes in your area.
• Provide leadership and oversight of the project management team.
