Job summary

National Highways is seeking a Programme Delivery Manager to lead a portfolio of tunnels and technology projects in the South East region. You will drive delivery within the in-year capital programme, ensuring outcomes, customer experience, quality, budgets, timescales and safety standards are met.

You will provide line management for Project Managers, set objectives, conduct performance reviews, and develop succession plans while guiding teams across Guildford, Basingstoke or Maidstone offices.

Qualifications

• Recognised qualification in relevant engineering discipline or extensive civil engineering delivery experience.
• Extensive experience delivering high value capital investment programmes and portfolios.
• Experience delivering technology and tunnels renewal projects.
• Up to date CDM and health and safety knowledge.
• Knowledge of Highways Construction & Maintenance practices.
• Experience in supplier and contract management.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of tunnels and technology portfolios within the Region's in-year capital programme.
• Ensure projects meet quality, cost, time, and customer service levels and safety standards.
• Manage and report against capital expenditure budgets and ensure financial controls.
• Provide leadership and oversight of supplier performance and risk management.
• Develop objectives, performance reviews, and succession plans for project managers.
