Helmed by designer and multifaceted Nigerian creative Mowalola Ogunlesi, MOWALOLA is the new-gen fashion brand finding critical and commercial acclaim for its progressive and playful designs – and a whole creative world that goes with it.
MOWALOLA is looking to hire a Senior Production Manager to join their growing team. The Senior Production Manager will be responsible for overall Production Operations.
Role Overview:
This is a pivotal leadership role within the MOWALOLA studio, overseeing the complete production cycle from initial development through to final delivery for both womenswear and menswear.
Reporting directly to the Creative Director, you’ll manage global supplier networks, critical path schedules, budgets, and the production team — while safeguarding the creative integrity of every piece.
You’ll be both a strategic leader and a hands-on operations expert, capable of managing luxury RTW production cycles while operating in a fast-paced, creatively led environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Strategy & Operations
- Lead the full production process from concept to final delivery across seasonal collections, capsules, bespoke projects, and high-profile collaborations.
- Manage critical path schedules, workflows, and operational systems to ensure on-time, in-full (OTIF) delivery.
- Develop and implement production strategies that align with MOWALOLA’s creative and commercial objectives.
Supplier, Factory & Logistics Management
- Manage global production partners in Turkey, China, and beyond — negotiating terms, managing capacity, and ensuring ethical and sustainable standards.
- Book and monitor all shipments, ensuring timely delivery to the London distribution centre and global destinations.
- Oversee the sourcing of new factories, mills, suppliers, and branding materials to support business growth and collection diversity.
Budget & Cost Management
- Own production budgets and product costings, ensuring alignment with financial targets and profitability goals.
- Collaborate with Merchandising and Logistics to manage final garment costs, including materials, freight, duties, and production expenses.
- Approve vendor invoices, POs, and production orders.
Product Development & Quality Control
- Oversee product development handovers, manage sampling processes, and ensure technical feasibility while safeguarding creative intent.
- Approve final samples and production swatches, managing pre-production processes and quality control throughout.
- Troubleshoot technical or supply chain issues, providing agile solutions while protecting delivery deadlines.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the production team, including freelancers, junior staff, and external partners.
- Collaborate closely with Design, Merchandising, Sales, and Logistics teams to align production operations with creative vision and commercial strategies.
- Cover production team duties where necessary, ensuring seamless operations at all times.
Reporting & Systems Management
- Maintain and update production schedules, costing sheets, stock and PO systems (e.g. Cin7), and shipment logs.
- Generate reporting for the Creative Director and wider leadership team on production status, financial performance, and supplier performance.
Requirements:
- 7+ years’ experience in fashion production management, ideally within contemporary, luxury, or high-end RTW.
- Proven experience managing international supply chains and complex production calendars.
- Expertise in garment construction, materials sourcing, and technical production processes.
- Strong budget management, costing, and financial reporting abilities.
- Experience leading a small, high-performance team and collaborating cross-functionally.
- Ability to remain calm, organised, and decisive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Excellent problem-solving, negotiation, and supplier management skills.
- Highly proficient in Excel and production management software (Apparel magic a plus).
- A genuine passion for boundary-pushing fashion, youth culture, and progressive design.
