Job description

Senior Production Manager (scenic construction production)

Salary: 65,000 - 75,000 per annum

Bonus scheme

Holiday entitlement: 28 days holiday plus bank holidays

Location: South East London (this is an office-based role)

Employment type: Permanent

Role Overview

As the Senior Production Manager, you will be a key member of the Leadership Team, responsible for overseeing all aspects of workshop operations, production timeline schedules, and project delivery.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for workshop operations
  • Oversee all workshop activities including metal work, carpentry, scenic art, and general workshop functions
  • Create and maintain production standards and quality control processes
  • Develop and maintain production schedules and resource plans, predicting and addressing shortfalls
  • Monitor and control operational costs and budgets
  • Collaborate with the Project Management Director to ensure aligned delivery approaches
  • Manage resource allocation across projects
  • Identify and resolve production bottlenecks and challenges
  • Develop skills matrices to identify talent gaps
  • Manage performance and development of direct reports with structured review processes focused on skills development
Experience:
  • Relevant experience in a senior production or operations role
  • Experience leading a team
  • Experience in a production-focused organization or industry (desirable)
  • Understanding of workshop processes and techniques
  • Strong leadership, strategic planning, and business development skills
