Job summary

Rubicon Recruitment Agency is seeking a Senior Production Manager in Bournemouth to own production performance, drive improvements, and lead from the front. You will manage downtime, overruns and on-time delivery, with authority to implement changes that boost productivity.

The role requires a proven track record in manufacturing, strong leadership of Team Leaders and supervisors, and a data-driven approach to solving problems. A hands-on leader who can drive change will thrive here.

Qualifications

• Significant production management experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven track record of improving performance with measurable gains in productivity, OTD, downtime or quality.
• Experience leading operational change rather than maintaining existing processes.
• Strong experience managing Team Leaders and/or production supervisors.
• Confident use of production data and KPIs to identify problems and drive corrective action.

Responsibilities

• Own production performance against monthly output and on-time delivery targets, leading recovery plans where needed.
• Drive measurable reductions in downtime, overruns and lead times, using production data to eliminate recurring causes at source.
• Lead change initiatives from concept to full implementation, bringing Team Leaders and the wider workforce with you.
• Direct production planning and prioritisation, adjusting as priorities shift and keeping the shop floor clearly informed.
• Lead MRB and NCR resolution through root cause analysis, working cross-functionally with Quality, Planning, Engineering and Quoting.
• Develop Team Leaders, set clear expectations, tackle underperformance and manage workforce planning, pay and skills.
