Job summary

GTS Group Ltd is seeking a Senior Production Engineer in Bedfordshire to join an established engineering business in the defence sector. The role involves moving new products into production, improving processes, and supporting manufacturing teams.

Ideal candidates will have a Production/Manufacturing Engineering background with electronics manufacturing experience, NPI familiarity, and exposure to Lean Six Sigma and ERP systems.

Qualifications

• Experience in electronics manufacturing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Take new products from engineering into production.
• Develop and improve manufacturing and test processes.
• Create work instructions, BOMs and manufacturing documentation.
• Design and improve jigs and fixtures.
• Troubleshoot production and test issues.
• Collaborate on DFM/DFT with Engineering.
• Improve quality, efficiency and production costs.
• Coordinate with suppliers and subcontract manufacturers.
• Provide first-line supervision to the manufacturing team.

Senior Production Engineer – Bedfordshire | £50,000–£55,000

I’m currently recruiting for a Senior Production Engineer to join an established engineering business operating within the defence sector.

This is a varied role covering NPI, manufacturing, test and continuous improvement. You’ll be working closely with the engineering and manufacturing teams to make sure new products can be moved into production efficiently, as well as improving existing processes.

The role will include:

• Taking new products from engineering into production
• Developing and improving manufacturing and test processes
• Proven experience in the electronics engineering field
• Creating work instructions, BOMs and manufacturing documentation
• Designing and improving jigs and fixtures
• Troubleshooting production and test issues
• Working with Engineering on DFM/DFT
• Improving quality, efficiency and production costs
• Working with suppliers and subcontract manufacturers
• Supporting and providing first-line supervision to the manufacturing team

They’re looking for someone with a Production/Manufacturing Engineering background, ideally with experience in an electronics manufacturing environment. NPI experience, Lean/Six Sigma and exposure to ERP systems would also be useful.
