Job summary

Thales Group in Reading/Bristol/Crawley hybrid is seeking a Product Safety Engineer to join a central safety team supporting high-value defence and aerospace programmes.

You will develop safety plans, perform hazard analyses, and help ensure robust safety cases across the lifecycle, with SC clearance advantageous. This senior role offers mentoring and access to a broad network of safety professionals within a global technology leader.

Qualifications

• Experience in Systems Safety or Safety Engineering on defence or safety-critical industries.
• Experience preparing Safety Cases and applying ALARP arguments.
• Experience with safety analyses such as FTA, ETA, FMEA, IHA and Hazard Logs.

Responsibilities

• Develop safety plans and ensure implementation at project level.
• Apply Systems Safety Engineering knowledge to complex systems and mentor others.
• Undertake systems safety activities and assessments.
• Ensure products have robust safety cases and supporting evidence.
• Work in multidisciplinary teams to identify and manage hazards and risks.
• Perform activities across various stages of the systems engineering lifecycle.
