Job description

We currently have a vacancy for the role of Senior Product Manager at our Hitchin site. Reporting to the Business Line Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for product category management within the utilities portfolio of products. This role involves managing three main areas: developing and executing product roadmaps, ownership of strategic initiatives, and supporting the operation of the P&L. The Senior Product Manager will develop business cases where appropriate for decision making and be required to scope, pitch, and report on their execution.

Specific responsibilities include:

1. Commercial management of product categories to support geographic and product line growth and profitability.
2. Support operational planning, monitoring, and reporting of business performance targets, market analysis, and competitor analysis.
3. Build and maintain product roadmaps, including delivery of NPD, ownership of capital expenditure requests, product launches, and profitability in line with P&L targets.
4. Lead voice of customer engagement to validate competitor analysis, market sizes, customer pain points, and technology trends for business growth.
5. Support the development, presentation, monitoring, and execution of strategic and operational initiatives.
6. Identify new opportunities within existing and new markets.
7. Monitor and report on market segmentation, customer profiles, and market windows.
8. Assist in converting strategic targets into operational targets during the operational planning cycle.
9. Collaborate with commercial, supply chain, and operations teams for sales inventory and planning processes.
10. Engage with commercial teams to understand regional forecasts and product performance.
11. Lead initiatives to improve performance for product lines and regions.
12. Monitor and report on forecasts, pricing, and costs for reviews.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in technical or business management subjects, with at least 5 years of experience in Product Management, project management qualifications, and demonstrated strategic and analytical skills. Excellent presentation, multitasking, communication, and cross-functional leadership skills are essential.
