About the Opportunity

An innovative, science-led technology organisation operating at the intersection of healthcare, life sciences and clinical research is seeking an experienced Senior Product Manager to help shape and develop its clinical technology portfolio.

Our client develops digital solutions that support pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies throughout the clinical drug development lifecycle. Its technology enables the collection of reliable patient data through digital assessments and biomarkers, helping researchers measure treatment outcomes, understand patient symptoms and accelerate the development of new therapies.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an established international business where technology, scientific research and healthcare combine to deliver meaningful improvements to global health.

The Role

The Senior Product Manager will take ownership of product strategy, commercial opportunities and portfolio development across a range of technology solutions used within pharmaceutical clinical trials.

This is a commercially focused, strategic position requiring someone who can combine customer insight, market analysis, financial modelling and product management with an understanding of clinical research and regulated technology environments. You will identify unmet customer needs, assess market opportunities, develop commercial business cases and translate complex scientific and technical requirements into commercially viable product strategies.

Working closely with senior leadership and teams across Product, Engineering, Science, Regulatory, Quality, Finance and Commercial, you will ensure product decisions balance customer requirements, scientific evidence, technical feasibility and commercial return.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead customer discovery and research, engaging pharmaceutical and biotechnology stakeholders to identify unmet needs, emerging requirements and opportunities for innovation.
  • Conduct market sizing, segmentation and competitor analysis, evaluating market positioning, pricing, product differentiation and commercial potential.
  • Develop robust commercial business cases for new products and market opportunities, incorporating TAM/SAM, revenue forecasts, pricing, development costs, margins and ROI.
  • Build financial models covering investment returns, payback periods, adoption assumptions and scenario/sensitivity analysis.
  • Own and evolve product strategies and roadmaps, translating customer and market intelligence into clear product requirements and investment priorities.
  • Prioritise opportunities based on customer demand, commercial return, technical feasibility, scientific evidence and regulatory considerations.
  • Work alongside Product Owners and Engineering teams to align strategic objectives with product development and delivery.
  • Understand how digital technologies are incorporated into pharmaceutical clinical trials, including trial phases, protocols, endpoints and operational workflows.
  • Collaborate with Science, Regulatory and Quality teams to establish validation requirements, intended use and the clinical evidence needed to support product adoption.
  • Consider the challenges associated with digital health technologies, electronic Clinical Outcome Assessments (eCOA), digital biomarkers and other digital clinical measures.
  • Contribute to pricing, packaging, product positioning and go-to-market strategies, working closely with Commercial and Marketing teams.
  • Engage with strategic customers, support product launches and communicate product strategy and investment decisions to senior stakeholders.
  • Monitor product performance through adoption, commercial success, customer feedback and relevant KPIs.
Essential Experience & Skills
  • Significant experience in Senior Product Management, Product Strategy or a similar role within life sciences, healthcare, clinical research or another highly regulated technology environment.
  • Proven experience owning product strategy, developing roadmaps and translating customer requirements into commercially viable solutions.
  • Strong customer discovery and market research capabilities, including stakeholder interviews and identifying product opportunities.
  • Demonstrable commercial acumen, including market sizing, competitor analysis, financial modelling and business case development.
  • Experience assessing ROI, revenue forecasts, investment costs, pricing strategies and commercial returns.
  • Ability to translate complex customer, scientific and technical challenges into clear product strategies and prioritisation decisions.
  • Experience working collaboratively with scientific, technical and engineering teams on complex products.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior decision-makers and lead cross-functional initiatives.
  • Ability to balance customer needs, commercial objectives, technical feasibility, scientific evidence and regulatory requirements.
