Job summary

Wintermute is seeking a Team Lead to serve as the technical authority within our Product team. You will own architecture decisions, set technical direction, and drive the engineering culture for client-facing and internal trading platforms.

You will lead a hands-on team of engineers across the full stack, shaping how we build, pick technologies, and scale systems to handle high data volumes and low latency across millions of events per second.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with at least 3 years in a technical leadership role.
• Proven track record making architecture decisions for complex, data-intensive applications.
• Experience building real-time, high-volume systems in trading or similar high-throughput environments.
• Strong command of frontend stack: TypeScript, React, Node.js; hands-on backend with modern languages.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the technical architecture for Wintermute’s trading products and portals.
• Lead and mentor a team of engineers across the full stack, setting code quality standards.
• Drive technical strategy and roadmap with product leadership; translate requirements into robust solutions.
• Architect systems for high data volumes, real-time streaming, and low-latency interactions.
• Oversee frontend experiences across onboarding to real-time trading dashboards.
• Collaborate with product, marketing, trading, and backend teams to ensure delivery.
• Establish and evolve engineering processes enabling rapid, confident shipping.
• Scale teams and systems to meet millions of events per second.
